// I NEVER Win Anything…
Posted on Tuesday, September 15th, 2009
I don’t usually win things.
I’ve never won a bike race.
(though I’ve never lost, either. 5th out of 10 isn’t bad, right?)
I’ve never won a contest.
(but I got second place in a pie eating contest once)
And I don’t usually win give aways. Until now.
That’s right. I won something. And it’s not even a lame something! I won a set of four pint glasses (in the picture! aren’t they cool?) from Vital Industries, in their Labor Day give away! And because I’m pretty isnanely grateful for finally winning something, I thought I’d do a little plug for their awesomeness here on Bicycle Boulevards.
I first ran into the joy that is Vital Industries at the Renegade Craft Fair in San Francisco. I was immediately attracted by their screen printed shirts that had bicycles on them–so I promptly bought one for the Trusty Boyfriend, and a sweatshirt for myself. Then I signed up on their email list. Then they sent me an email about their give away. Then I won! Amazing!
Seriously though, the company is run by a couple, Brett and Crystal, out of their home in Denver, Colorado. They make cool stuff, and they sell it online and at places like the Renegrade Craft Fairs. It’s just the two of them and their bikes. You can read more about them here, too.
Essentially–the stuff they make is fun for yourself, but what really gets me is the gift-giving potential. I know a few cyclists who have everything. They don’t need shorts, water bottles, bike lights, parts, or anything else practical. They just need cool looking stuff that illustrates their passion. And you can find that stuff at Vital Industries.
They also have other screen prints….but the bikes are really the thing! Check them out for all your hip screen-printed needs!
